…Always, always, always dive right. It’s amazing how ‘keepers still dive the wrong way against such a high-profile spot kick taker.

Setting A Precedent

The news that Dida will be suspended for what can only be described as disfriggingraceful play acting is a good idea in my book. At last the Powers That Be are seen to be doing something; the only way that this sort of thing is going to be reduced (it’ll never be stamped out) is with retrospective bans; not fines, they’re bollocks. Why would a player on seventy grand a week give a monkey’s about forking out a few quid?

It will be interesting to see whether this continues, or whether the usual will happen and the buggers will chicken out.

Graham Stack shows the way

In complete contrast to what we saw from Dida, take a look at former Arsenal keeper Graham Stack (then on loan to Belgian side Beveren), and see how he deals with fans coming onto the pitch.

Paul Robinson gets support of David James.

Isn’t that a bit like Harold Shipman reaching out to Fred West?

Should England bring back David James?

Laving aside his ridiculous hair-do the Portsmouth keeper has been the top English keeper in the league this season.

Paul Robinson, the current number 1, has been error prone and looked fatter than normal. This must surely affect his ability to, you know, jump and stuff, which is quite important for a goalie. With Ben Foster and Scott Carson also having good seasons is it a case that the Spurs man is cracking under the pressure or is it a case he’s just not that good?

With vital games coming up surely McLaren will pick the players in form. I mean, it’s not England would play a player simply because of his name and reputation if he wasn’t the best person for the position…

…oh.
