I’m tremendously excited about this new season.

Even though we had the European Championships, this off season seems to have taken so long it’s almost rude. Maybe it’s been the relatively quiet transfer market (in terms of big name players at least)

My best guess is that the title race will be between Chelsea and Man United, although much was made of Portugal’s defensive frailties from set pieces under Scolari, and how will United get on while Ronaldo is out injured?

After Wednesdays performance against Standard Liege, is this really the season Liverpool mount a serious title challenge? Also, I’m guessing Liverpool’s European away kit was already designed prior to the purchase of Robbie Keane, someone should have warned Rafa he’s not the same player when he wears green.

Arsenal’s squad looks thin, they all said that last year and despite leading for a long time and being highly entertaining it ultimately proved correct. Squad looks even thinner this time though…..worried Arsefans?
Spurs will be fun I think, not sure in what way but fun nonetheless.

Questions:

Can any of the promoted teams survive? Come on you Tigers!
Will Sunderland’s expensively experienced mediocrity based approach to transfers bear fruit?
How is Deco going to enjoy being kicked around the park?
How could Setanta hire Clive Tyldesley? Really.
Will Everton sign anyone?
Paul Ince !?!?
Can Man City entertain us again?
Will Portsmouth miss Muntari as much as I think they will?

Think that’s all for now.

nice to see you’re posting again! Well, I don’t see any change from last year, though I doubt Arsenal will do as well - their squad is thin right enough and they struggled against FC Twente in midweek. Hull to go down, hope Stoke survive, they’re my secret English bit on the side!

They got a right thumping today.

    Hull won!

    Paul Ince won!

Jings, Stoke where rank. Thank God that’s only the first game of the season though eh? Not altogether sure where the central defenders where for those goals, still on the bus I reckon.

Answer of each question in turn:

    1) Not sure of the promoted teams but history suggests one usually survives. Good luck to them, I think Stoke.

    2) Sunderland will avoid relegarion (IMHO). Does that count as spending lots of money bearing fruit?

    3) I’m a gunner who believes Deco’s stronger than you think as well as being a top player. He will contribute hugely to Chelsea’s season and subsequent success (Blech).

    4) Setanta and Clive? Hilarity plus. They best understand that and not try to analyse matches.

    5) I have never seen so much of an injury crisis as Everton is enduring. They may need to sign someone. It may not get them to Europe anyway though.

    6) The question Paul Ince is answered by Paul Ince. Say no more.

    7) Man City may struggle to entertain, sophomore slumps (I know that’s Yankee slang and sucks, what can you do?) and not enough quality.

    8) Heck yes Pompey will miss Muntari. Why? Hate him if you must but Mourinho knows his footballers and rates Muntari for good reason. Boy can play.

Questions answered while drunk by White Ox, let’s hope they make sense…

Good start for Blackburn and Paul Ince, although they face the mighty Hull next week so the wheels could come off there.
