As an Arsenal fan I was rather aggrieved at our exit from the tournament at the hands of Liverpool. The penalty that was not given, a penalty that probably wasn’t given, and on those two crappy refereeing decisions the tie turned.
So I was rather hopeful that Barcelona would give me something to cheer about for the rest of the tournament, and to put it in perspective I fucking hate Barcelona. I lived there for years and had to travel back after the 2006 Champions League final from Paris on a train full of Barcelona fans. Sickening.
So now we’re going to have an all English final and as much as the Liverpool defeat hurt me I have to go with them for the trophy.
My reasoning:
1 - Manchester United and Ronaldo winning it would make me get a bit sick in my mouth. I know this is Ferguson’s dream so I’d hate to see that come true.
2 - Chelsea would be the first London club to win it and it would mean Ashley Cole has a Champions League winners medal.
3 - Liverpool have already won the thing 5 times, what difference does one more make?
My levels of bitterness and hatred for the clubs in question are taken into account here. Perhaps it’s based on the fact that Liverpool haven’t challenged for the league in such a long time. United have been long time rivals and Chelsea is the most vulgar, tasteless football club in existence.
So for those reasons I want Liverpool to win it. If they get beaten tonight then I’m going to completely ignore the final and I will pretend for the rest of my days that it did not happen.

I don’t think I’ve laughed so hard in a long time. Nice one mate!
YNWA.
From all the quarter / semifinal games, the teams that remain in the competition are probably the least deserving, having been either toothless and outplayed or lacked any sort of class whatsoever.
The final is just going to be a disgrace.
Just like last season, the final stages of the CL are incredibly uninspiring. Does anyone remember the Milan-Pool borefest? Watch the UEFA cup, it’s much more exciting with more modest, adventurous teams just going for it.
As a gooner myself, I have to agree. While I hate the way Pool got lucky to eliminate us, I’d rather see them win than the chavs or the smug mancs who believe they are entitled to trophies by divine right and that they shouldn’t have to face any real challengers. Look at the opponents the mancs have faced in the CL this year, all pathetic. They’ve cruised thru the tournament against inferior opposition, as have the chavs. At least Pool had to face a strong Arsenal team who really gave them a challenge.
I am soooooo with you. Chelski v ManU Champs league final. The worst nightmare in football. The thought of John Terry lifting the cup with big ears makes me so depressed.
It will be a rubbish game as well.
Football. There is no justice. I am clinging on to the thought that us Gooners have a stack of good karma coming our way next season.
I have to agree with every word in your post - that is exactly how I feel as well. Usually I watch the Champions League final, no matter who’s in it, but I think I may just have to skip this one - I can’t imagine the thought of watching a single minute of the match, let alone seeing either Ronaldo or Judas Cole’s faces with the trophy. It makes me want to die.
I seriously don’t know who I want to lose more in the final, Chavski or Manure.
My hatred for Man Scum means that I may have to hate the Blues less….
